Marquee is a local business directory platform. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it, in line with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173).
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a display name. Owner accounts also collect a legal name, which is kept private and only visible to Marquee admins — it is never shown publicly.
ID verification (optional). If you choose to verify your account, we collect a photo of a government ID and the ID number you type in. The ID number is converted into a one-way hash immediately and the photo itself is deleted after your request is reviewed, whether approved or rejected. We do not keep a copy of the ID photo.
Location (optional). If you tap "Use my location" to sort nearby shops, your device's location is used once, in your browser, to calculate distance. We do not store, log, or transmit this location to our servers.
Activity data. We record basic usage events — such as page views, favorites, and directions taps — tied to a shop, not to identify you personally, to help us understand what's useful and to give owners visibility into their listing's performance.
Payment information. If you're a shop owner paying for a listing tier, your payment is handled directly by our third-party payment processor. Marquee does not receive or store your card or bank details.
Content you submit. Ratings, written tips, and (for owners) shop photos and listing details you choose to upload.
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that help us run Marquee, each strictly limited to what they need to do their job:
We keep account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove personal identifiers within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain records for legal or accounting purposes. ID verification photos are deleted immediately after a decision is made, regardless of outcome.

Marquee uses your browser's local storage (not tracking cookies) to remember things like your dark mode preference, favorited shops, and recently viewed shops on your own device. This data stays on your device and is not sent to our servers unless you're signed in and use the corresponding account feature.
Marquee is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 without appropriate consent. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll remove it.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including access controls on our database and one-way hashing for sensitive identifiers like ID numbers. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorized access.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.
